Hi Bro,
This is a great article that you have wrote. I have been reading it and it speaks a lot to me about my own Christian walk and some of the hindrances to a deeper walk that I am facing. I have made some major decisions over the last few days concerning my church, ministry and family and reading this has helped me a lot in making my decision. Good work bro, very inspiring. Glad that we have crossed paths.

Great Post Asiri!!. I totally understand your predicament, when we are all soaked in a christian culture which threatens to extinguish any resemblance of Christ's original intention for his church. We are often met with the strongest of gatekeepers when we determine to break out and explore new and fresh ways of experiencing this life called Christianity. I am certain that if we would only be bold enough to ask the hard questions and say the hard stuff and get off our bums and do the hard yards in the world away from the confined spaces of the "Church" some would be saved from a slow painful death by boredome & mindless cultural tradition & unwarrented expectation... as you can probably see I have institutionalised church issues and am thrilled for that fact!

Gee, it must have been a pretty bad sin for him to have a boulder fall on him and to amputate it himself... maybe someone should have explained repentance to him before he went canyoneering! It's much easier than amputation.

“Can the common good prevail over self-interest and the desire for personal gain?”... Common Good? Hmmm let me meditate on this concept, no I do not know of any common good which was not self seeking at it's core. There is a Uncommon Good which comes from the heavan's but not a Common Good which stems from the Common Man, who when I last checked was dead in his transgressions, a prisoner to an unseen enemy and mastered by his flesh... May the "religious contribution" and "the government" both come to realise that Common Good is a myth, and that true world changing power comes from obedience to a Holy God.

In our Political Science texts, this particular quote is attributed to the period of Emergency in India, 1975 (in the TOI). The text of the obituary is very slightly different, but the names are exactly the same.
