About Asiri

Asiri 3year old

Asiri was born on 25 June 1961 in Colombo Sri Lanka, to Arthur and Nellie Godage.Nellie

When Asiri was 2 years old, the family moved to the city of Kandy, where Asiri’s father worked as a piano technician and his mother was a school teacher. Asiri has a younger brother Ruwan and a younger sister Sriya who both live in Colombo. Arthur, Asiri, Ruwan & Sriya

Asiri was educated at Trinity College Kandy and graduated from high school in 1980.   While employed at a hospital in 1986 Asiri decided to study the Bible and attended Rhema Bible Training Centre in Perth Western Australia where he met and married Peta Gates in 1990.

Asiri and Peta then founded Faith for Lanka Ministries Inc. before going to Sri Lanka in April 1993 to start a church as a missionary outreach of Christian City Church Perth.   The church, operating under the name of Lanka Faith Centre (Christian City Church Kandy), originally started as house church meetings at various locations in and around Kandy.   This church eventually became one of the larger Christian congregations in Kandy ministering to about 200 people weekly through sunday services, house-church meetings and outreaches throughout the city.  (Click here to view video)

During their time in Sri Lanka, a son and two daughters - Joshua, Michal and Alexandra were born.   After training up a team of leaders to manage the church, Asiri and family moved back to Perth - Western Australia in 2001.

Asiri then trained in computer studies for two years at TAFE graduating with a diploma of Network Engineering in 2002.

Asiri and Peta now have another son - Ethan.   Asiri worked at Riverview group in the IT department from 2002 - 2008.   At present, Asiri is employed at the Catholic Education Centre as the Computer and Network Administrator.
